A Taste of Madison
Madison's 13th annual celebration of area cuisine, A Taste of Madison, took place Tuesday, September 23. The event, which was held at Goodpasture Christian School, was a great success with over 500 people in attendance. Twenty food vendors participated, including the following:

Woody's Steakhouse - Best Hot Entrée
Doug and Kim from 94.1 The Fish, Lelan Statom and Meryl Rose from NewsChannel5, and Andrew "The Lunchbox" Woodall from 107.5 The River were in attendance as food booth judges.
In addition to food vendors this year, the event also showcased nineteen area businesses in a “Business Fair” hosted by the Women in Business committee of the MRACC. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the booth fees are going towards funding a scholarship that will benefit deserving young ladies in the Madison-Rivergate community who are going directly from high school into the work force. The vendors who participated were: Regions, US Bank, Madison High Alumni, Middle TN School of Anesthesia, AAA, AARP, Beauti Control, Mary Kay, Mia Bella's Gourmet Candles, Neill & Associates, Electric Service Credit Union, Hot Yoga House, Maybelle Carter, Bradshaw Collision, Juice Plus, Alive Hospice, Lightyear Wireless, Old Hickory Credit Union, SmallBizBigWeb.com, National College of Business & Technology.
The event was sponsored by Goodpasture Christian School, the Madison Utility District and Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will go towards A.C.T.I.O.N, the before and after school outreach program at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church.
Now, it's time to start planning for next year! The tentative date for 2009 is September 22.
