SUMMARY:Rix Roundup: A Western Swing Ranch Party
DESCRIPTION:Rix Roundup: A Western Swing Ranch Party featuring Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys will bring authentic Western swing to Harken Hall on Saturday\, August 8. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.\, swing dance lessons begin at 6:00 p.m.\, The Jobros perform at 7:00 p.m.\, and Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys take the stage at 8:00 p.m. \nThe evening opens with swing dance instruction presented by Laynee Day Incorporated\, experts in Lindy Hop\, Balboa\, and more. Dancers of every skill level are invited to learn a few steps before enjoying an evening of live Western swing music. \nKicking off the live music are The Jobros\, a family band built around three generations of the Jobe legacy. Carrying forward the name of Rick Jobe’s father’s band from the 1930s\, the group features four musicians performing on Dobro guitars—including the rare bass Dobro. Their energetic blend of Delta blues\, country blues\, and Western swing offers a distinctive sound rooted in tradition while setting the perfect tone for the night ahead. \nAfter a brief transition\, Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys take the stage for an evening of classic Western swing inspired by the legendary Texas dance halls. This eight-piece ensemble delivers the rich\, danceable sound that made Western swing a beloved American tradition. \nJoining the Wonderin’ Cowboys as special guest vocalist is Laynee Day\, a Nashville-based singer\, dancer\, and choreographer whose lifelong performing career brings exceptional versatility and stage presence to the evening. Trained in classical voice with musical roots in jazz\, pop\, and contemporary styles\, Laynee adds her own distinctive touch while embracing the timeless spirit of Western swing. \nRick Jobe\, the event producer of Rix Roundup\, is a veteran bandleader whose background includes performing as a staff musician at Joe Namath’s Supper Club. He also toured with Columbia recording artist Vic Dana and spent four decades leading Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction. Rick later became a multimedia producer for clients including Disney and NASA and has recorded GRAMMY Award-winning singers. In midlife\, he became an ordained minister\, serving the homeless and teaching as a college professor before retiring to full-time performing in Nashville. \nClick here for tickets!

SUMMARY:Meet and Three at Harken Hall on August 18th
DESCRIPTION:Meet and Three: Local Showcase\n\n\n\n\nMeet & Three is a musical showcase where local flavor meets up-and-coming sound. Inspired by the classic Southern “meat & three” tradition\, each night features three distinct artists sharing their stories in an intimate setting where every lyric lands and every moment matters. \nFeaturing: \n\n\n\n\nSierra Carson emerges as a captivating indie folk singer-songwriter\, blending influences from Joni Mitchell to The Lumineers into her own sunshine folk sound with an R&B influence. Her writing reflects her love for alternate guitar tunings and her existential introspection\, her lyricism sometimes reading like a cleverly arranged journal entry that does not avoid topics like religion and public policy. \nHarrison Boe is an indie folk artist from Hickman\, NE. His influences include Ed Sheeran\, Lizzy McAlpine\, and Noah Kahan. With more than 10 million streams across all platforms\, his authentic writing reassures listeners that they are not alone and allows them to explore the positive side of negative emotions. \nEli Patterson is an emotional pop singer-songwriter based in Nashville. Striving to be purely honest in his songwriting and never settling for anything less\, he draws influence from artists such as Ed Sheeran\, Gracie Abrams\, and Sasha Alex Sloan. He is getting ready to start rolling out his sophomore project and said his goal is to be a “male spokesperson for vulnerability.” Patterson’s music and artistry create a safe space for those who listen to his music.
